Ever dream of swimming in a sea of pink? Well, you can come pretty close to fulfillment by visiting Senegal's Lake Retba. Lac Rose, as it is called by the French, resembles a strawberry milkshake because of a salt loving organism, Dunaliella Salina, that produces a red pigment that absorbs sunlight to create energy.
{swimmers can actually float in the lake due to the 40% salt content like the Dead Sea in Israel}
{locals collect the salt on the bottom of the lake to sell}
