I'm sorry about my blogging hiatus. But guess what?! I'm back!
Moving into my new apartment has been a completely chaotic experience thus far. It's absolutely absurd trying to fit all my clothes into these tiny closets- but I'll make it work. Overall, its turning out great! I am just working on the finishing touches now like putting up posters, hanging a chandelier, and picking out a few more things to make it more cozy and fun.
These are some of my favorite finds while searching for apartment decor and knickknacks.

Jak & Jil
Tommy Ton, the mastermind behind the street style blog, Jak & Jil, always manages to capture shots with his impeccable eye for detail. These two images really caught my attention but I honestly could spend hours scrolling through his blog. Check out his snapshots of absolute fashion ingenuity on the streets to scenes behind the catwalk and everything in between.

Kickin' It Old School
Functional meets fashionable. It seems like the world has been waiting for the day Isabel Marant would send her wedged sneakers down the spring runways and change future footwear forever. But can she really take all the credit?

As a 90's child, my mind instantly flashes back to Baby Spice and her platform sneakers every time I see a pair of Isabel Marants or their many copy cats. See, platform sneakers were all the rage at the time, but sure enough the 5 inch gym shoes faded off intothe back corner of your closet filled with things you never wear fashion history. I cant help but wonder if the same thing will come of this latest craze. Do I buy a pair to have them go out of style in only a few more months? (I may be persuaded to give in for these look-alikes) Everyones been hopping on this trend from designers like Ash, Jeffrey Campbell, Steve Madden, and even Nike, to celebrities including Beyonce, Kate Bosworth, and Alicia Keys. In fact, the Marant sneakers are considered to be the best selling shoe of the season according to WWD and are completely sold out. Let the hunt begin.

The Final Countdown
As I avoid packing up all the contents of my room into 5 brown boxes to be shipped back to Michigan, (Go Blue!) I've found myself completing every DIY that's been on my summer to do list. Don't worry, I promise to share. I am finally out of denial and have to accept it- I am a procrastinator. While many of you would find packing everything you own, running around doing last minute errands, and spray-painting, gluing, cutting, studding and every other task for your DIY quite the daunting challenge, I somehow find peace in leaving it all to the last second (or until my 9am flight tomorrow. Uh Oh). It's going to be a little chaotic the next few days so please bear with me while I get settled in.

You Never Let Me Down
Oh Zara. You never cease to amaze me. Perfect peplums and studded shoulders. Sequin embellishments and high waist trousers. And who wouldn't love all the feathers, studs, and pearls. You always seem to win me over.

DIY: Embellished Denim
Honestly... WTF! I just came across this DIY and had to post it right away. From the fabulous duo, Erica and Lauren, of one of my favorite blogs, this DIY couldn't be more worthwhile. Tip: try to find a vintage or lower priced denim top instead of shelling out for the Madewell version- you'll be way happier if you accidentally slip up (pretty impossible with this DIY though). For instructions check out their site!

Nasty Gal
I think it's safe to say that this e-commerce site needs no introduction. However, I'm sure were all dying to meet Nasty Gal's up and coming in house line! A first look of the line debuted on Refinery 29 earlier today and it sure its naughty. The fall collection, named "Weird Science," definitely refers back to 80's favorites like Pretty in Pink,The Breakfast Club, and of course, Weird Science. The line is a mashup of Lisa's sexy outfits (the perfect woman created by Gary and Wyatt in Weird Science) and Molly Ringwald's classic Sixteen Candles get ups, so you know the line is bound to be a hit.

Drop Waist Dress
Dress/ Artizia. Heels/ Steven by Steve Madden. Ring/ Aldo. Necklance/ Brandy Melville. Nails/ Essie Blue Rhapsody.
The new "it" silhouette of the summer is definitely a style thats here to stay! The drop waist, full flirty skirt, and bold pattern give the dress a fun, youthful vibe while still maintaining a classy feel. The lightweight fabric makes it comfortable for the hot days, and can be easily paired with a cream sweater for breezy summer nights. The open back is

Super Sunnies
After "misplacing" losing my favorite sunglasses last week in Amsterdam I have been on the hunt for a new pair of shades. I've already admitted that losing sunglasses may be my worst habit (besides biting my nails) so I think I am going to take a new route. The game plan: get a killer case and actually use it.

Lucite Heels
The crystal clear heel that had once been reserved solely (get it?) for Strippers and their infamous poles has found a new calling in the fashion world. This now A-OK heel is back in all its various forms- the platform, the peep-toe, and my preferred favorite, the wedge, and is ready to step off the stage and walk the streets. One things for sure, these heels are no longer synonymous with exotic dance wear. Is 50 Shades of Grey to blame? I hope so. No matter the cause, I'm loving the lucite and hopping on this see through trend.

Oh You Fancy Huh?
While in Amsterdam I couldn't help but devour one three warm golden waffles and pancakes. I wish they had been made with this waffle maker embossed with the French Fashion House, Louis Vuitton's trademark design. LA based Artist, Andrew Lewicki, is the mastermind behind this expensive eat.

Biggest Sale of the Season
Ok fine. The "biggest" may not be the appropriate word choice, but this sale is definitely my favorite. LF just announced its only sale of the season while I'm stuck vacationing on the other side of the world! Make sure to stop by the often disorganized, and very crowded store- yes it sounds like miserable experience (it is) but trust me, the deals are totally worth it. To sum it up imagine being surrounded by teenage girls throwing clothing everywhere, acting like wild animals at the watering hole (catch that mean girl reference?), and all of a sudden finding those incredible Jeffery Campbell shoes you've wanted for 3 months and have been saving up for that were $250 and now only $98! The whole store is 60% off and will last until everything is scooped up.
